How
The ROM is built out of four 12” x 12” wooden panels that are screwed together to form a base unit. Above the base, four clear panels come together to create the top container area, which holds approximately one hundred 2” plastic toy capsules. The front wooden panel of the ROM holds a 2-quarter coin mechanism and has a small rectangular hole through which the capsules are released. Inside the base is a ramp that guides the capsules. Each capsule contains a receipt printed using an arduino based thermal printer, with messages intended to shock the audience. A motion sensor detects that a user has turned the coin mechanism and a receipt prints out of the “arduino cash register” next to the ROM, gradually filling the gallery with ominous thermal paper streams. The bottom of each receipt  contains a link (and barcode with an imbedded link) to a website I created with more information about BPA.
